Weldon “Wayne” Crecelius, 79 returned to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 29, 2019 after a brave five year battle with cancer. His devotion to his wife Shirley of 61 years and his firm belief in Jesus supported him in his battle and gave him peace during his last days.
Wayne was born January 11, 1940 in Dallas, Texas to Weldon and Naomi Crecelius. He grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1958. Wayne married Shirley McGlothlin in Dallas on June 28, 1958 and they were blessed with a loving family that they raised in Duncanville. After he retired from Mrs. Baird’s Bread Company, they moved to Pecan Plantation where he was an avid golfer and a member of the Pecan Plantation Country Club. He was also a member of Acton Baptist Church.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley McGlothlin Crecelius; daughters, Cathy and her husband Richard Kidd and Caryn and her husband Charles Salkowski; three grandchildren, Leo Salkowski and wife Jessica, Caitlin Kidd and Laura Salkowski who will all miss him dearly but celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury.
Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Wiley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury.
