Roy Michael Hodges, age 70, passed away on March 21, 2021, at his home in Granbury, Texas. He was born September 25, 1950 in Kermit, Texas.
Growing up, Mike enjoyed participating in athletics and playing guitar in a high school band, The Changing Times. He began his studies at West Texas State University, where he ran track and was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He went on to receive a degree in physical therapy from Texas Women’s University, where he met his loving wife, Jill Denise Hodges. They were married for 36 years and raised their three children on a ranch they built together near Comanche, Texas.
For many years, he and Jill owned and operated a physical therapy business, serving patients across central Texas. Mike was an accomplished musician with a passion for playing the guitar, banjo, and bass guitar. He and Jill were members of a jazz ensemble for many years, playing in venues across Texas. Mike also had a passion for all things vintage. He loved driving his ’55 Chevy Bel Air and opening up his 50’s style game room for all his friends and family to enjoy.
He recently retired to Granbury, where he could be found out with his friends enjoying live music or on the lake spending time with his family. He cared profoundly for the ones he loved and was a very involved father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his children, Erin Hodges Caywood and husband Stephen, Sara Hodges, and Jake Hodges; grandson, Ethan Caywood; sister, Sherryl Hodges Fulton and husband Kenneth; stepmother, Charlene Hodges; mother-in-law, Betty Hiett; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jill; father, Roy Norman Hodges; and mother, Maxine Hodges.

Mike was a Kermit High School classmate! We graduated together in 1969. Mike was an amazing friend! He was kind and caring to all! He had an infectious smile that brightened our lives! He was a super athlete, musician, and wonderful human being! We were so glad to see him at the 50th reunion. We all had a memorable time!! He will definitely be missed but never forgotten! Rest in Peace

Words are inadequate to express my deep gratitude for you. Every detail of my husband’s service was perfect and beautiful.

Mike became a close friend to myself and my husband these last couple of years. Even though we did not him a long time, we felt we knew him all our life and he will greatly missed and never forgotten.
