His family moved four years later to a farm near Okeene, Oklahoma, at the height of the dust bowl and depression.

Robert Franklin Carver went to be with The Lord, on December 28, 2017, on his and Ruth’s 64th wedding anniversary. He was born on November 12, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Chester and Lila Carver. His family moved four years later to a farm near Okeene, Oklahoma, at the height of the dust bowl and depression.
Bob graduated from Homestead High School and later graduated from Oklahoma A&M College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity, Alpha Zeta, an honorary agricultural fraternity, and Wesley Foundation, where he met the love of his life, Ruth A. Clinard. They were married December 28, 1953, at the Methodist Church in McLoud Oklahoma.
He served in the US Air Force for two years in Cheyenne, Wyoming and French Morocco, North Africa. Ruth joined him and they traveled throughout Morocco, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Holland. While in Morocco they were fortunate to live in the world famous Majorelle Gardens.
Bob received his Master of Science degree from Kansas State University. His research there, led to his election to the honorary research fraternity, Sigma Xi. He served 31 years as a statistician with the United States Department of Agriculture. He and Ruth lived in Oklahoma, Georgia, Colorado, and Washington DC, and he was head statistician for the USDA in Wyoming and North Dakota, prior to his retirement in 1988.
He loved playing basketball, golf, softball, bowling, gardening and keeping up with all sports. He dearly loved his family. Bob and Ruth were always active in the United Methodist Church, wherever they lived. He served and chaired many committees as well as ushered at church. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, the Boy Scouts of America and the Acton United Methodist Church.
Bob was a sports fanatic, and his favorite pastime was watching and following Oklahoma State University sports.
He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Marion Carver, his mother, Lila Carver and sister Mary Ellen Goforth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth, son Robert Daniel Carver and wife, Susan, his daughter Christy Diane Drew and husband Paul Johnston, grandsons Conner Evan Drew and Trevor Alan Drew, brother-in-law Gayle Goforth, nephew Mike Goforth and niece Mindy Goforth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Acton United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 13, at 11:00 am at the Acton United Methodist Church, 3433 Fall Creek Highway, Granbury, TX.
