It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick William McGuire (Pat) announces his passing, at his home, after a long battle with COPD, on Friday, September 11, 2020, at the age of 84 years.  Pat was preceded in death by his mother Nina, father Kenneth and younger brother, Bruce McGuire.

Pat was born on January 24, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, IA.  He graduated from CSU in 1960 and started a lifelong career in sales and packaging.  For 11 years Pat managed many facets for Georgia Pacific Corporation before moving into a very successful sales role acquiring new business, for over 20 years, with Blanks Color Imaging.  He then moved onto Southern Graphic Systems where he helped cultivate upper management contacts with current customers, as well as, assisted with increasing sales and acquiring new business, until he retired in 2014.  Pat was always grateful for all of the wonderful relationships and close friends he acquired throughout his career.

Pat was lucky enough to have his wife, of 36 years, Beverly (Bev), with him on a lot of work trips, which allowed them to explore the city when time allowed.  When work took a backseat, Cancun and Hawaii were their choice destinations, along with visiting family and friends in many different states.  Pat was also a dog lover.  His furry companions throughout his adult life consisted of Maltese pups.  His other passions included golfing and boating.  Pat was lucky enough to have the chance to play at courses all over the country which resulted in him achieving 3 holes-in-one.

Pat is survived by his wife, Beverly, his children: daughter Cristi, and husband, Gary Arington, son Dan, and wife, Tina McGuire, and son Scott McGuire, as well as his brother Larry McGuire.  He will also be sadly missed by his six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

The family wishes to thank Encompass Hospice for their care and support during this rough time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association or Second Chance Farm in Granbury, TX.

Arrangements made by Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, TX.
