Mavis Raney Jones Drury, 93, of Fort Worth, formerly of Acton, Texas, passed into the arms of her Savior February 2, 2018. Visitation will be 12 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Wiley Funeral Home followed by graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday in Fall Creek Cemetery.

Mavis was born in 1924 to Rev. James E. and Angie Raney who lived in the Fall Creek Community. As many children did in that time, Mavis and her sisters walked three and a half miles to Fall Creek School. She graduated from Granbury High School. Later she moved to Fort Worth and worked for Leonard’s Department Store for forty years. Mavis married Dalton Jones of Fort Worth. They made their home in Fort Worth, then retired in Acton and were married for many years until his death. Later Mavis married a longtime friend, Leonard Drury who passed away in 2012. She enjoyed gardening, acquiring many beautiful iris specimens from the Fort Worth Botanical Garden. Mavis was known for her extensive flower gardens where she spent her happiest hours tending her flowers.

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Flossie Cash Vaughn, Rosalyn Cash and Jimmie Lee Durant; beloved niece, Billie Jean Hoyler; and niece Sandra Cash.

She is survived by sister, Daphne Burns of Granbury and nieces Barbara Boozer and John of Granbury, Christalene Giles and Billy Jack of Godley, Rohana Cash, Chris Cash, Pam Cash of Granbury, Linda Olmos of California, Cheryl Burns, Jim Burns and Cindy of Granbury, Brenda Graff and Don of Cleburne, Sharon Sullivan and Deborah King of Weatherford; and beloved friends, Dr. John and Jill Busch of Fort Worth. Mavis had numerous great nieces and nephews and many friends. Especially her family appreciates her caregivers, Maria Villalpanda, Alejandra Vargas, R.N. and Oscar Mendoza, R.N.
