Mary Sharlene (Babea) York
Born: March 4, 1953, In Fort Worth, Texas. Died: June 12, 2022, in Glen Rose, Texas. At age 69
Sharlene was born to parents William Jackson (Jack) and Ruth Marie Mitchell in 1953. She was raised in the Springtown, Texas area until their early teens when her mother and father moved to the Erath, Hood, and Somervell County areas. She was a 35-year resident of the Post Oak Community, where she raised her three children.
She was a loving, devoted mother, and friend. She also had several different careers in her lifetime. She loved to travel, shop, swim, eat out, cook, and do other outdoor activities. Her favorite hobbies were looking around and shopping at Wal-Mart. In later years she moved in with her daughter due to health issues and to be closer to her beloved grandchildren and later great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, daughter, and their spouses. William Cheyenne (Chaynee) and Lance Beller- Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, Billy Dean (Bill bo) and Kim Brumley of Granbury, Texas, and Venus Sherrie (Beanie) and J.J. Vara of Glen Rose, Texas. Also, two adopted children Kenny Howle, and Sherry Ewing of Ohio, and adopted sister Penny Geron of Little River, Texas.
Her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Peyton (Rocket Scientist) Vara, James (James Baby) Vara, Hailee Brumley, Jack D. (Jackie boy) Brumley, Allison (Alli Bean) Brumley, Rylie Brumley, and Kaitlyn Marie Mitchell
Waylon L. (Fat Baby) Vara, Haylinn S. (Yaya) Robinson.
She has also survived a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents William and Ruth Mitchell, and Brother Robert E. (Bob) Casey.
In lieu of flowers, we would like for you to donate to the Somervell County Meals on Wheels in her name.

When we would go swimming in the river. She would say give me the towel. Let's catch the minnows. No mom it will be cold. Na it will dry lets go sain. She loved the water and to swim,fish and be outdoors.

Venus, I am glad that I met your mom at your store's opening. She was sure smiling that day. I know you will miss her. You were a good daughter to her.
