Wallace Howington, 92, of Granbury, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019.  Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Visitation: 1:00 PM until service time, Friday, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.

Wallace was born on January 12, 1927 in Indian Gap, Texas to James Wiley and Ruth Howington.  He proudly served his country during World War II.  He married Barbara Walker on May 29, 1947 in Fort Worth.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Christian University in 1957.   He received his Doctorate in music from the University of Southern California.  He retired after 14 years with the Covina Unified School District, where he was a music teacher and band teacher.

Wallace, fondly known as cowboy, loved singing, and pleasing people.  He enjoyed private aviation and he flew his entire family from California to North Carolina. He was an active member of the Baptist Church.  In 2012, he moved to Granbury.  He was preceded in death by his wife on December 2, 2018, his parents, daughter, Cynthia Howington who passed away in 1988, brothers: Wilford Howington, and Wayland Howington, and sisters: Ara Howington Schuster and Irene Howington Nance.

Wallace is survived by his daughter: Gayle Mann of Granbury, son: Joey Howington and wife Roberta of California, grandson: Christopher Mann of Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base, California, granddaughter: Ashleigh Howington of California, and nephews: Ron Schuster and wife Jan, Kenny Howington and wife Cynthia, and Keith Howington and wife April.
