Glennis Floyd Harvey, 85, of Granbury, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Granbury Villa, after a short illness.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 17, 2018, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, officiated by Glen’s grandson, Rev. Perry Garrett.
Glen was born in Marietta, OK to Floyd Leonard and Beulah Inez Harvey. He met the love of his life, Glenda Tims, at an early age, seventh grade, in White Settlement, a suburb of Ft. Worth, where she lived with her parents. Glen knew right away that she was the one. They were married for 65 wonderful years.
Glen and Glenda made their home in White Settlement until his job in the grocery business moved them and their three children to Albuquerque, NM, in 1961. They resided in New Mexico, raising their kids until moving back to Denton.
They moved to their final home in Granbury 37 years ago.
Glen enjoyed playing golf with friends and son, Rick. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers with his wife, Glenda. Glen also enjoyed watching and attending his grand kids’ sports and activities, as well as the great-grands.
Glen was preceded in death by wife, Glenda, his parents and his son-in-law, Marshall Day.
Survivors include son, Ricky Harvey, of Granbury; daughters, Debbie Day, of Gatesville, and Cyndy Harvey-Mulholland and husband, Barry, of Marble Falls; brother, Bill Harvey and wife, Doris, of Corinth; grandchildren, Derrick Harvey (Kendra), Michelle Geslani (Ollie), Perry Garrett (Tanna), Chris Garrett, Candice Cozby (Tyler) and Adam Floyd; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the local cancer society or cancer research, or charity of the donor’s choice.
