Dennis Preston Meyer, 67, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 AM at the Triple Cross Cowboy Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department, Triple Cross Cowboy Church, Hood County Sheriff’s Posse, Hood County Animal Control, Fairview Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
Dennis was born October 6, 1950 in Campbell Hospital, Weatherford, Texas to V.F. (Tommy) Meyer Jr. and Billie Jean Schlittler Meyer. He graduated from Granbury High School in 1969.
Dennis was a Christian who loved hunting and fishing. He was a certified scuba diver and welder. He traveled the United States working on shutdowns at nuclear plants.
Dennis is survived by his sister: Dana Ruth McCoy and husband Joe, niece: Chrisy Leanna Kiser and husband Stephen, nephew: Grady O. Wilson, great-niece: Meagan, great-nephew: Ethan, Uncle Norman and Aunt Jane Schlittler of Anchorage, Alaska, lifelong friend: Charles Artie Gray, many cousins and wonderful friends.
The family wishes to express many thanks to our precious aunts: Gayle Meyer Nye and her three sweet sons, Joy Meyer and her daughter Sherry, the North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department, Sherriff Roger Deeds and all of our first responders.
